Rydes Secures €3.5 Million to Expand Corporate Mobility Budget Platform

2023-04-26

Rydes, a Berlin-based startup, is helping companies offer their employees a monthly mobility budget to spend as they see fit. Leveraging the shift towards multi-modal transportation, Rydes provides a platform that eliminates the need for employees to submit expense forms after the fact.

Rydes has raised €3.5 million in a seed funding round led by Assembly Ventures and Rethink Ventures, with Futury Capital and angel investor Jens Krüger participating. Existing backers of the company include Lufthansa Group, Forward31, Arabella Venture Capital, and other angel investors.

If you’ve ever traveled on behalf of your company, you’re likely familiar with the hassle of keeping track of transportation receipts and filing expenses. Rydes offers companies a chance to turn this admin task on its head by providing employees with a monthly mobility budget. This not only eliminates the tracking and admin work for employees but also allows them to choose their preferred mode of transport, whether it be shared mobility, public transport, rented bikes or cars, or with fuel or charge cards for their own cars.

According to Rydes CEO and co-founder René Braun, “If you’re seeking to attract and keep driven talent, you will need to offer attractive and flexible mobility solutions. Rydes is the first Corporate mobility budget platform to meet these requirements. We offer a full-spectrum bandwidth of services, from shared mobility to renting or leasing bikes and cars, fuel and charge cards, and public transport. The completion of our seed funding round is a major step on our mission towards becoming the go-to destination for all employee mobility needs, and providing businesses with an attractive, straightforward platform solution.”

With this investment, Rydes will expand its platform to other markets outside Germany, making it easier for companies worldwide to provide their employees with flexible and attractive mobility solutions.

Rydes is currently hiring in Berlin.
